According to foreign media reports, scientists have now created a reversible material that will keep you cool or help you get warmer. There is a lot of potential for adjusting calories in apparel fabrics.
This is not only convenient but also environmentally friendly. If you can effectively heat your own body, you do not need to spend a lot of energy to heat or cool the room.
Stanford scientists have created a material that controls how much calories it has lost based on how users wear it. The researchers say one day it can be used to help regulate the temperature of clothes, or wearable electronic devices. The research is published in ScienceAdvances.
The new material is made of plastic (a polyethylene, or material from ClingWrap), carbon and copper.
When you try to cool down, the carbon coating is on the outside, and the heat radiates. When you want to heat, the other side, which contains a copper coating, helps keep the heat. This material can extend the comfortable temperature range by about 11.5 degrees Fahrenheit.
